What is the new iPhone 16e?
The new iPhone 16e serves as an entry-level model to the iPhone 16 series. It's the successor to the iPhone SE, a cheaper and more affordable iPhone. Even with its new £599 price point, it's still the cheapest phone out of the iPhone 16 series.
Pros of the 16e
Even for the higher price point, you get a good deal with iPhone 16 hardware like a 6.1-inch OLED display and the same A18 chip found in the more expensive iPhone 16. This is a major improvement from the iPhone SE3.
There is now a USB C charging cable for more optimised and faster charging. The iPhone 16e also has a larger battery than the SE3, so you can be happy with a longer battery life.
Cons of the 16e
Even at £599, it's still an expensive phone. It's £170 more than its predecessor and may still be too expensive for those looking for a cheaper and more budget device.
While the 16e does have wireless charging, it does NOT have MagSafe. If you enjoy the convenience of snapping your phone onto charge or using MagSafe accessories, then the 16e is not for you.
If you've decided you're going to grab the new 16e, we have tough phone cases available to help protect your new device from bumps, drops and scratches.
