As you've probably noticed, AirPods are not waterproof and have no water-resistant qualities. Only the AirPod Pros offer some degree of water and sweat resistance. However, this is not enough if you drop it in your glass of water. So if they get wet, dry them immediately. Dry your AirPods
The first thing you should do when you drop your AirPods in water is to dry them with a microfibre cloth and to sit them upside down to dry out. The best thing to do is to leave them and don't put them back into their charging case or try and use them. Only put them back in once you're certain they're dry.
Dry with silica gel packs
We know it's a common tip to put your device in rice when it gets wet but this can do more harm than good. Dust, starch and bits of rice can get stuck in your buds or charging case. It's a good habit to keep a collection of silica or desiccant gel packs from products you order or shoe boxes. Simply add a few packs into a sealable bag and leave your AirPods for a few hours.
Check if your AirPods still work
After drying your AirPods out for around 24 hours, it's good to check if they still work. Test them out by listening to a few songs. If they still sound great then you're good to go. If it's still not working, leave them to dry further. If they're still not working or sound bad after a couple of days, it's probably time for a replacement.

- Don't take your AirPods when you go swimming, take them out in the rain or a sauna.
- Keep a routine of clearing your pockets before putting your clothes in the laundry to make sure your AirPods don't wash too.
